Doc to Dock

Every day in the United States, more 7,000 tons of unused or re-usable medical supplies are thrown out and sent to landfill. At the same time, in the developing world, thousands of patients are turned away for want of these same supplies. Doc to Dock is a non-profit that seeks to correct this imbalance. By collecting unused and reusable medical supplies and delivering them to health care facilities in need in Africa, Doc to Dock has presented a solution that both helps protect the environment and positively impacts the lives of the people in Africa. Hospital participants receive plastic donation bins, which are picked up by Doc to Dock. Larger donations are also picked up through this organization.

In addition to recycling benefits and the opportunity to make an impact on the lives in the developing world, any health care facility participating in the Doc to Dock program should note their donations in their Community Service Plan, to help justify their tax-exempt status.
